Advantages of direct liquid cooling

High energy efficiency
The PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) metric reflects the ratio of total electrical energy consumed to the energy consumed by the equipment and is a key indicator for assessing the energy efficiency of data centers. The average PUE in 2023 is 1.58 (for every 1000W of equipment power, 580W is spent on cooling and maintenance). The most efficient air-cooled systems in data centers achieve a PUE of 1.25, while direct liquid cooling enables a PUE of 1.04 (only 4% of electricity is used for cooling and maintenance).

Reduction in failure rates
The main causes of electronics failures, according to the US Air Force Integrity Program report, are dust (6%), humidity (19%), vibration (20%), and overheating (55%). Immersing servers and other equipment protects them from hot spots, electrical breakdowns, contact oxidation, and condensation due to fluctuations in humidity and ambient temperature.

Reduction in construction and densification costs for data centers
Direct liquid cooling enables power densities of up to 100kW per rack, compared to 7-15kW for air-cooled racks. Building a data center of equivalent capacity saves up to 50% in capital expenditures.

Low environmental requirements
Systems with direct liquid cooling have no requirements for air humidity, cleanliness, or temperature, nor for room volume, cleanliness, or ceiling height. The liquid itself is dielectric, reduces EMI levels, and allows equipment to operate at sub-zero temperatures.

System operation diagram
The IMMERS cooling system is designed as a closed-loop system and is fully sealed. The liquid, after cooling the electronic components inside the chassis, flows through the main lines to an external cooler, where it is cooled to the required temperature and then returned to the chassis. Liquid circulation is ensured by natural convection and additional pumps with intelligent control.

IMMERS cooling liquid
The cooling liquid is non-toxic, has hygiene certifications, and is safe for health.

The operational lifespan of the cooling liquid is 5 years, after which replacement is recommended.
